Appointments for naltrexone implants should be booked AT LEAST 4 WEEKS IN ADVANCE. £150 deposit is required at the time of booking and will be deducted from the cost of treatment. Your deposit will NOT be refunded if you cancel your appointment after the Wednesday before your appointment. If you rearrange your appointment with less than 5 days notice, or you arrive too late or miss your appointment you will lose your deposit and will be charged another £150 before another appointment can be made.
Before an implant can be inserted, we will test your urine for opiates and you will have to sign a statement confirming that you have not used opiates for 5 days (methadone for 7 days). If found to be positive for opiates, we will not insert an implant and you will forfeit your £150 deposit. Another deposit will have to be paid before a new appointment can be made.
Remember that painkillers such as codeine, DF118, dihydrocodeine, nurofen-plus, paracodal and Tramadol may give a positive result so avoid them. Paracetamol or nurofen alone is fine.
