What is Subutex?

Subutex is an unusual opiate. It has some properties like heroin or methadone and some like Naltrexone. It is probably the easiest opiate to come off by moderately swift reduction. However, timing and dosage require some ‘know-how’ to avoid a withdrawal reaction. It also depends on what and how much opiate you have been taking and your personal circumstances as to whether it is a suitable method of detox to consider.
What is included in your subutex treatment?

An assessment covering your medical, psychiatric, social and drug history, and including a physical examination, tests and the formulation of a treatment plan.

A personal reduction schedule and a series of short prescriptions for subutex, and anti-withdrawal medication if needed.

Instruction, monitoring and supportive counselling is provided.

Up to four weeks treatment is included in the package price and will often be enough time to complete the detox. (Please Note: Extended treatment is charged at the usual opiate maintenance rate.)

On completion, we can arrange Naltrexone tablets, depot injection or implant, but this is not included in the cost of the subutex detox.
